Lixo urbano: um problema socioambiental da cidade de Lagoa-PB.

Abstract

More and more it is seen that the urbane garbage is increasing, since at present the persons consume more than the past generations. In view of the above this work it has as objective minimizes the problems produced by the unsuitable discard of the residential solid residues, when that the city of Lagoa- PB, as well as many cities of Brazil face serious environmental problems caused by accumulation of solid residues and lack of a treatment adapted for the garbage, which to each day increases more, when the consumerism and the absence of information. Before this worrying fact suggestions will be made orientating the community not to pollute and to degrade the public roads, avoiding so the proliferation of diseases, wear of the ground, pollution of the air and of the water, including the benefits that the natural resources provide us. Aiming to raise awareness among the city residents, the process of composting was introduced, to reduce the garbage produced in the kitchen of the school Amadeu José de Almeida de Lagoa-PB. The compound was used, as fertilizer in the planting of a small organic garden, there was the participation of elementary school students, teachers and officials of the school. During the development of the project were worked with the concepts of the curricular component science, as: chemical properties, reactions involved in the composting process, physical properties and environmental education, being demonstrated that the apprenticeship is more significant when the theory is integrated to the practice. However, with the study it was possible to show that students were made aware of the need to preserve the environment for a better quality of life, mobilizing the local community making her knowing of problematic.
