O Diário de Anne Frank: a narrativa do cotidiano na construção de uma memória histórica.

Abstract

The World War II was a hard period and had many consequences, one of them, is the holocaust. To know how it happened we have the testimony literature, that served as a support for many to ―escape‖ the harsh reality they were living. It‘s through the person-al tale and autobiography that we can have some kind of proximity with this people that suffered in the war. In this sense, The Diary of a Young Girl, written by Anne Frank, is a perfect narrative to highlight this premise. Furthermore, this research has a goal to analyse her work, proposing to discuss the factors that led to its insertion inside the col-lective memory and the transformation into a museum called Anne Frank House. To reach this goal, we will study some aspects of the Holocaust, the testimony narratives, the ―places of memory‖ and the context that took place after the war. It will be used the theory of authors like Zygmunt Bauman (1998), Seligmann-Silva (2005), Barros (2011) e Nora (1993) Moreover, we will analyse, comparatively, The Diary of Anne Frank and If This is A Man? written by Primo Levi. A survivor of a concentration camp. With the intent of allowing a new experience, showing narratives about the Holocaust. The me-thodology used in this research. It has a qualitative character. Besides that, documental analyses and the bibliographic review were made to reach the aim of this research.
