Abstract

This research entitled Industrialized foods and chronic noncommunicable diseases: Condado - State of Paraíba intended to contribute socially and scientifically to a comparative data at the municipal, state, regional and federal levels, supported by the literature on the subject. It also aimed to: Characterize the role of the SUS (Unified Health System) through Primary Care regarding food and nutritional surveillance; To evaluate the role of food consumption markers in the Ministry of Health's food and nutrition surveillance information systems; Verify the relationship between processed foods and the health-disease process by associating concepts and definitions with agribusiness; Addressing chronic diseases and the composition of processed foods and their risks regarding illness, advantages and disadvantages. To this end, we proceeded with a bibliographic, descriptive and comparative study with a quantitative and qualitative approach on the relationship between processed foods and non-communicable chronic diseases. Data were obtained from the SISVAN - MS (Information System on Food and Nutrition Surveillance of the Ministry of Health), which are in the public domain and are available on e-Manager. They were then organized into tables and graphs for further analysis and discussion of the results, thus composing an item of this work. Thus, the object of this study was the relationship between food and health and disease and was through the Stricto Sensu Graduate Program in Agroindustrial Systems - PPGSA to answer the following problem: Is there a relationship between processed foods and the health process? Health of individuals? The results pointed to a direct relationship between food consumption and nutrition habits, as well as with lifestyles and individuals' noncommunicable chronic diseases
