Contribuições do Latim para a formação lexical do português brasileiro: uma análise do livro didático do Ensino Fundamental II.

Abstract

This research was made with the purpose of analyzing the textbook Portuguese Languages, by the authors Willian Roberto Cereja and Thereza Cochar Magalhães, from the 6th grade of elementary school II, exemplary of the student. In order to verify how the historical context about the lexical formation of Brazilian Portuguese is being approached since its origin in Latin, as well as the degree of relevance given the lexical variations that contributed to the formation of the Portuguese language. By identifying the absence of the aforementioned contents we intend to promote a reflection on the importance of knowing the historical course of the Portuguese language until the formation of our language; Brazilian Portuguese as well as to present alternatives for this subject to be dealt with in a deeper and contextualized way. The general objective of this research is to highlight in a historical perspective the contributions of Latin to the lexical formation of Brazilian Portuguese. Besides the specifics, it is important to emphasize the importance of Latin for the formation of Brazilian Portuguese; analyze how the textbook approaches the lexical formation of Brazilian Portuguese; propose from one applicable to the 6th grade of elementary school II, the deepening of the importance of Latin for the lexical formation of Brazilian Portuguese. This research was developed with a bibliographic and documentary study through a descriptive and qualitative approach. To gather the information we are based on the studies of Joaquim Mattoso Câmara Junior (1976), Serafim da Silva Neto (1976), Silvio Elia (2003), Marcos Bagno (2011), Ismael Coutinho (2011), Maria Cristina de Assis (2011), among others that reflect on the subject here studied. However after the analysis of the textbook it is evident that this tool is used as the only source of research and presents gaps regarding the contextualization of the process of formation of the Portuguese language as well as the lexical variations that favored the formation of our language: The brazilian portuguese.
