Identificação dos sólidos flutuantes dos efluentes da cidade de Pombal-PB.

Abstract

The sewage released untreated into water bodies cause environmental problems and risks to human health, necessitating their treatment. The floating solids present in the sewage, originating in food preparation when thrown in the kitchen sink can cause problems in the operation of sewage treatment systems and the receiving body, other materials that deserve special attention are the oils and greases remnants of the processes occurring in mechanical workshops. Given the above, it is that held up study on the importance of proper disposal of floating solids: oils and greases that are produced in the town of Pombal-PB, given that the improper disposal of these materials can bring harm to the environment and to human health. For this, we evaluated the impacts of the release of this waste, characterized the handling of these materials in the current environment by identifying the leading producers and final disposal. Visits were made in launching points for sewers, current facilities of ETE / Pombal and collecting information in some outlets. Verified that the studied establishments make the correct disposal through reuse of these materials.
