Geografia e literatura no caminho de "Os Sertões" e "Vidas Secas".

Abstract

This work aims to highlight the relationship between Geography and Literature. It starts with the assumptions of Humanist Geography in approaching the Science with Art. Geographical studies are considered essential for this research. Milton Santos, where we will use two of his key concepts in geographic production, the conception of space and landscape. From the understanding of these categories, we seek to unite all possible links of this research. Turning to the field of Brazilian study, presents Regional Literature, which has the northeastern sertao as a setting for narratives. This current has a lot to contribute to studies focused on this area. Will used as resources the works: The Sertoes of Euclides da Cunha and Vidas Secas do writer Graciliano Ramos, to establish this possible dialogue. It raises the following hypotheses: can links be found between geography and literature? How did they come about? It's possible understand the complexities of space90 by making an interrelation of scientific knowledge with literary? How are geographic elements represented in Literature? All these issues will guide this work.
