Gênero, empoderamento e autonomia: a percepção das mulheres beneficiárias do Programa Bolsa Família em Maceió-AL.

Abstract

Social policies of income transfer almost always focus their actions in the family, and make a priority recipient woman. In trying to understand possible impacts of these actions on people's lives, this paper discusses the relationship between the Bolsa Família Program, a public policy of income transfer, and in particular its effects on the empowerment and autonomy or the lives of women. From this perspective, we seek through women beneficiaries of the Bolsa Família, seize their perceptions of possible individual and collective changes with the receipt of program resources. Therefore, we will use the qualitative method, whereas we use as secondary data the Single Registry databases for social programs. In line with these methods was carried out cross-checking those data with the information obtained from women's Bolsa Família Program in Maceio. In the analyzes we find that the process of empowerment of poor women is an important step in promoting changes in social and gender relations and at the same time, it contributes significantly to the development and elevation of family and community dignity.Social policies of income transfer almost always focus their actions in the family, and make a priority recipient woman.
