Conhecimento de mães acerca da importância da imunização para a saúde da criança.

Abstract

Public Health Policies in Brazil, aimed at children, are related to abetter coverage of the programs implemented by the Ministry of Health, emphasizing the reduction of infant mortality, through collective actions and continuous emphasis on immunization,which aims to protect children against vaccine-preventableinfectious diseases. The objective of this study was to understandthe knowledge of mothers about the importance of immunization for their children, identify the facilitating factors and multipliers ofhealth education, based on immunization, and understand the reasons that facilitate adherence of mothers to immunize their children. It is a research-type exploratory descriptive qualitative approach, developed in the area covered by the Family Health Program in the city of PAPS Cajazeiras - PB. The sample consisted of 15 mothers of children aged 0 to 15 months of age.To collect data we used an interview script of the structured type.Data were analyzed using the Collective Subject Discourse. The result of this study found that mothers participants hold some knowledge about vaccination, but that it is presented in a fragmented way, with demonstration of insecurity and uncertainty of the same, what are the gaps in reporting that the multidisciplinary team of Primary Care health leaves to carry out health education, which should use all pride for these mothers leave these localprimary care without question the most.
