Perfil epidemiológico das ocorrências realizadas pelo serviço de atendimento móvel de urgência (SAMU) no alto sertão paraibano.

Abstract

The Mobile Emergency Care Service corresponds to a strategy by the Ministry of Health to formulate a Health Policy focused on Urgencies. Therefore, urgency is understood to mean any occurrence of health problems with or without risk of death that takes the individual to immediate care, as well as emergency care and the verification of health conditions. Thus, the objective of this study was to identify the epidemiological profile of the occurrences carried out by the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU) in the city of Sousa-PB in 2009, as well as to know the number of visits made by the Support Unit Advanced (USA) and the Basic Support Unit (USB) that make up SAMU and characterize the care provided by SAMU in 2009. The research was an exploratory, descriptive, documentary, quantitative study developed in the Municipality of Sousa / PB, at the Mobile Emergency Service (SAMU). In order to carry out this study, records of occurrences in the year 2009 were used, duly completed and signed by the team that performs the service, by the radio operator (RO), by the medical regulation technique (TARM) as well as by the Nurses who work in the Advanced Support Unit (USA). The data obtained revealed that the majority of SAMU occurrences occurred due to clinical causes, among which, adults had a greater number of services. Right after cardiovascular diseases, systemic arterial hypertension was identified as the main cause of care. Furthermore, these events were attended to by USB, which may imply that many calls are not being answered in their severity by the USA. Finally, the study realizes the importance of SAMU - 192 in the survival of patients as a mobile support.
