???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: No Brasil evidencia-se a ampliação na cobertura pre-natal, todavia faz-se necessário a investigação da qualidade da atenção prestada. Essa pesquisa teve como objetivos: analisar a percepção das gestantes acerca da assistência prestada durante o pré-natal realizado em UBS do município de Sousa - PB, conhecer a influência exercida pelo nível socioeconômico na adesão/permanência nas consultas pré-natais e verificar a importância atribuída pelas gestantes ao pré-natal realizado em UBS do município de Sousa-PB. Trata-se de uma pesquisa exploratória, com abordagem quantitativa e qualitativa. Participaram da pesquisa 30 gestantes que realizaram pre-natal em três Unidades Básicas de Saúde do município de Sousa - PB, em maio de 2011. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista aberta e individualizada, com roteiro estruturado, assim como informações contidas no Cartão da Gestante e na Ficha Individual da Gestante e Puérpera. Utilizaram-se tabelas para a caracterização dos dados socioeconômicos e obstétricos das participantes e quadros para a analise dos dados qualitativos através do Discurso do Sujeito Coletivo (DSC), destacando-se as idéias centrais e seus respectivos discursos, comentados de acordo com a literatura conveniente ao assunto. Os resultados apontam mulheres com idade propicia a gestação, que conviviam com companheiro fixo, a maioria era do lar, sobrevivia com um salario minimo e residia com um numero considerável de pessoas. Quanto aos dados obstétricos, 76,7% iniciaram o pre-natal no 1° trimestre, 33.3% eram primíparas. Constatou-se que as gestantes atribuíam a importância do pre-natal primeiramente a saúde de seus filhos, posteriormente a elas; o descontentamento expresso no discurso de algumas, por falhas na assistência e que as gestantes, em maioria, não vão acompanhadas durante as consultas, comprometendo a resolutividade da atenção prestada. Observou-se que as expectativas das gestantes e a importância atribuída por elas em relação ao pre-natal fundamentam-se no conceito de saúde preventiva e curativa, e que aspectos socioeconômicos influenciaram esta percepção.
Abstract: In Brasil, the enlargement in the prenatal covering is evidenced, though It is necessary the investigation into the quality of the rendered attention. That research had as objectives: to analyze the pregnant women's perception concerning to the attendance rendered during the prenatal that had taken place in BHU of the municipal district of Sousa-PB, to know the influence exercised by the socioeconomic level in the adhesion / permanence in the prenatal consultations and to verify the importance attributed by the pregnant women to the prenatal that had taken place in BHU of the municipal district of Sousa-PB. It is an exploratory research, with quantitative and qualitative approach. Thirty pregnant who had their prenatal exams done in three Basic Health Unities in the municipal district of Sousa-PB, in May of 2011, participated of this research. The data were collected through open and individualized interview, with structured itinerary, as well as information contained in the pregnant woman's card and in the pregnant woman's individual record and postnatal. Tables were used for the characterization of the participants' socioeconomic and obstetric data and pictures for the analysis of the qualitative data through the Collective Subject's Speech (CSS), standing out the central ideas and their respective speeches, commented in agreement with the convenient literature about the subject. The results point women with favorable age for gestation, who lived together with fixed companion, most was of the home, who survived with a minimum wage and lived with a considerable number of people. Concerning to the obstetric data, 76,7% began the prenatal in the 1st quarter of the year, 33,3% were in the first gestation. It was verified that the pregnant women attributed the importance of the prenatal firstly to their children's health, later to them; the expressed dissatisfaction in the speech of some, for flaws in the attendance and that the pregnant women, in majority, is that they don't go accompanied during the consultations, endangering the rendered attention's capacity of resolution. It was observed that the pregnant women's expectations and the importance attributed by them in relation to the prenatal are based in the concept of preventive and healing health, and that the socioeconomic aspects influenced this perception
