dc.description.resumo	O presente trabalho que tem como tema a efetividade dos direitos dos idosos no município de Sousa-PB, tem como finalidade ampliar o debate sobre a possibilidade do envelhecimento ativo no âmbito municipal, foco principal do referido trabalho, uma produção permitida por meio da pesquisa bibliográfica e qualitativa, tendo como objetivo geral conhecer as ações, projetos, programas e políticas públicas destinadas ao idoso, e como objetivos específicos a análise da legislação municipal e federal sobre o idoso, bem como conhecer a estrutura municipal oferecida aos idosos sousenses. A construção do presente tema teve como alicerce a Constituição da República Federativa do Brasil de 1988, assim como a Lei n0 10.741/2003 Estatuto do Idoso, respaldado na Política Nacional do Idoso, necessário para a real compreensão da situação atual em que vivem os idosos sousenses, buscando compreender a efetivação de seus direitos, sua relação com a melhoria da qualidade de vida, com a saúde, educação, habitação e os seus direitos fundamentais, a metodologia aqui empregada foi o método dedutivo, cujo compromisso fora o de contribuir para elucidação e aprimoramento do conhecimento de dados que contribuirá para o conhecimento sobre a realidade atual dos idosos.	pt_BR

dc.description.abstract	The present work that has as its theme the effectiveness of the rights of the elderly in the municipality of Sousa-PB, aims to expand the debate on the possibility of active aging in the municipal level, main focus of our work, a production permitted through bibliographic and qualitative research, with the general objective of knowing the actions, projects, programs and public policies for the elderly, and as specific objectives the analysis of the municipal and federal legislation on the elderly, as well as knowing the municipal structure offered to their elderly. The construction of our theme had as foundation the Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil 1988, as well as the Law N0 10.741/2003. Statute of the Elderly, backed by the National Policy of the Elderly, necessary for the real understanding of the current situation in which our elderly live, seeking to understand the implementation of their rights, their relationship with the improvement of the quality of life, with health, education, housing and their fundamental rights, through the evaluation of municipal programmes and services for the elderly, with the aim of helping to popularise the debate, and potentially to reach the dimension that is peculiar to it, making clear the current concern of Brazil with the increase of the elderly population.	pt_BR
