Direito e meio ambiente: uma abordagem sócio-jurídica acerca do conhecimento de direito ambiental dos alunos de ciências jurídicas e sociais no campus de Sousa.

Abstract

In the midst of a society based on an unbridled consumerism, were initiated several environmental problems that is threatening the life on Earth. Appears then, in defense of the environment, a new fundamental right, which is to live in an environmentally healthy world. In search of systematic principles and standards of modern legal branch is created Environmental Law. International meetings have been realized to establish guidelines able to mitigate environmental impacts and one of the most important result of these events was the principle of Environmental Education (EE), appearing as an innovative proposal to seek the formation of a thought preservation. The objective of this job is to delineate the legal and environmental profile of students of the Course of Social and Legal Sciences of the CCJS / UFCG, seeking to show the level of knowledge of students about the Law of the Environment. For the development of research were employed bibliography, exegetic and analog methods, with application of questionnaires. Once it was found that the majority of students questioned was unaware of the principles and norms of environmental law, reporting that many of them even had contact, showing that the contact was only last year of the course, thus demonstrating a high degree of misinformation to comment in respect of the subject. To change this reality, it's necessary to direct efforts to develop a local environmental education, able to provide a more evolved level of the students with such legal instruments, so essential to the viability of the sustainability of the planet.
