Abstract

This work has as main objective to bring up reflections on this important theme that is the Death Penalty, since this subject is found very often in our current society, because in the face of the events that have arisen and that are appearing more and more in the world, as and the case in which one of the greatest terrorists in the history of mankind is being discussed, Saddam Hussein, among others, putting the right to his life (or death!), seems to us of the utmost importance to approach in a way comprehensive report on capital punishment. We will do this through debates with colleagues on our own campus, with the general public, and mainly by consulting books and the world wide web (internet). The importance of debates with fellow law students and with the public in general is based on the opinion of each citizen about what the State and the laws should or should not apply, thus generating a healthy discussion. The search in doctrines and the world wide web gives us more than a theoretical content to the topic, it also provides us with decisions about the controversy. Our monograph, in this way, took readers to a general approach about the theme chosen by the student, leaving them free to give their opinion regarding the implementation or abolition of the death penalty, since in some countries we know that it comes being applied according to the legislation of the country that adopts it, as is the case with the United States of America; while in others, the presence of this type of penalty is not noticed in their legislation, as is the case in our country.
