???metadata.dc.description.resumo???:	A crise que afeta o sistema penitenciário nos últimos tempos, requer, ultimamente, o estudo e adoção de novas alternativas para a pena de prisão, e nos casos em que a segregação do individuo se mostre necessária, e que a prisão esteja preparada para a tarefa de reabilitação, para devolver a sociedade pessoas preparadas para a convivência harmônica com os demais cidadãos. Partindo-se deste ponto para uma explanação sobre a realidade do sistema penitenciário brasileiro, os regimes de cumprimento da pena existentes em nosso ordenamento jurídico, alem das penas privativas de liberdade, tudo embasado principalmente em nossa Lei de Execução Penal e em nosso Código Penal. E precisamente neste contexto do sistema penitenciário brasileiro, que delineamos a difícil situação da Colônia Penal Agrícola do Sertão, estabelecimento o qual foi construído com o fim de abrigar presos do regime semiaberto, e que devido a necessidade canceraria do município e região abriga apenados de todos os regimes, fugindo assim de sua finalidade precipua. Todavia, podemos acompanhar com frequência essa realidade, durante as pesquisas para elaboração desse trabalho. Acompanhamos os projetos sociais ali existentes, assim como o descaso da justiça, e a falta de assistência medico-psicológica. Assim tem-se que a finalidade dessa pesquisa e trazer a realidade do sistema penitenciário sousense, para conhecimento de todos os segmentos da nossa sociedade, e que possamos refletir com mais humanidade essa situação, para que, só com vontade politica e participação da sociedade poderemos mudar essa triste e cruel realidade. Para tanto, foi utilizado o método dedutivo, com a realização de pesquisas bibliográficas e empirica. Assim, estruturou-se o presente estudo em três capítulos, nos quais se procurou relatar o histórico das penas e das prisões na evolução da sociedade, a constatação da realidade do sistema penitenciário brasileiro, e por fim, uma analise critico-sugestiva da situação canceraria em nosso município.
Abstract:	The crises that affects the penitentiary system in the last years, requires, lately, the study and adaption of new alternatives for the punishment by confinement, in the cases where the segregation of the individual if shows necessary and the arrest is prepared for the, white washing, task, to return to the society people prepared for the harmonic acquaintance with the too much citizens. Starting oh this point for a explanation on the reality oh the Brazilian penitentiary system, regimes of juljiment of the penalty existing in our legal system, beyond the privative penalties of freedom, everything based mainly in our law of Criminal Execution and our Criminal Code. It is necessarily in this context of Brazilian penitentiary system, that we delineate the difficult situation of the Criminal Agricultural Colony of the Hinterland, establishment wich was constructed with the finality to shelter prisoners of the half open regimen, but it have had the jail necessity, of the city and region shelters convict from all regimes, running away of its main purpose. However, we can follow with frequency this reality, during searchers for the elaboration of this work. We follow there existing the social projects, as well as the indifference of justice and the lock, of doctor-psychological assistence. Thus, the purpose of this research is to bring the reality of the "sousense" penitentiary system, for knowledge of our society to let us can reflect with more humanity this situation, so, with politics wishes and participation of the society we will only be able to change this sad and cruel reality. To do it, the deductive method was used, with the accomplishment of bibliographical and empirical researches. Thus, the present study was structuralized in three chapters, in witch if it looked for to fell the description of the penalties and the arrests in the evolution of the society, the reality of the Brazilian penitentiary system, and finally, a criticalsuggestive analysis oh the jail situation in our city.
