Variáveis condicionantes do rendimento acadêmico das alunas do curso de Administração.

Abstract

The university has an essential role in the development of the region where it operates. Higher education emerged in Brazil, with isolated courses of purely vocational training, focused solely on the male sex. However, due to the economic development, it was necessary to expand this teaching, which, however, did not reach women, who managed to enter into this modality only 70 years after its emergence. In addition to expanding, it is necessary for the institution to provide quality knowledge for the recognition of professionals. The investigation of this knowledge can be measured by the level of learning absorbed by the students, considering that external factors may influence or not the absorption of this knowledge. Thus, in a specific way, this work aims to show which variables are associated with the academic performance of the students of the administration course of the UFCG / CCJS. The research becomes relevant due to the care that the university must have in relation to the elements that may interfere in the learning of its students and how to deal with them. The theoretical framework was divided into three categories: historical context of higher education in Brazil, briefly describing how this emerged in the country; The teaching of Administration in Brazil, initially aimed at meeting only the needs of the State; And the Women's Presence at the University, reporting the difficult process of women's conquest to higher education. The research is characterized in an exploratory and descriptive way, trying to verify evidence of association between the variables studied, being classified as field research, since the data collection was carried out with the students investigated. For the accomplishment of the research the quantitative form was used. In conclusion, it can be observed that among all the studied variables, two of them showed evidence of association in relation to the income level reached, being these, the variable related to the form of entrance in the course and the variable related to the family education received, the Other variables studied did not present any evidence of association. However, through the present work it is possible to develop new studies that will enable more specific knowledge about the subject.
