| ???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: | O presente trabalho visa a analisar os romances The Stepford Wives (1972), do escritor americano Ira Levin, e The Handmaid’s Tale (1985), da escritora canadense Margaret Atwood, pela perspectiva comparada. Nossa categoria de análise será desenvolvida em torno da representação dos corpos femininos presentes nas obras literárias. Para tanto, nos utilizamos das protagonistas de ambos os romances para engendrar nossa análise. Como aporte teórico, consultamos nomes como Revel (2005), Cavalcanti (2005), Xavier (2007), Silva (2010) e Schaun & Schwartz (2012) em relação às temáticas abordadas. Quanto ao processo metodológico, este enquadra-se dentro de uma pesquisa de base qualitativa e interpretativista, permitindo ao pesquisador a exploração do tema em evidência, e a consequente reflexão a partir de suas próprias ideias a respeito do objeto de pesquisa. Em ambas as narrativas foi possível refletir a respeito da realidade que se baseiam as ideologias sociais e culturais presentes na sociedade contemporânea em relação ao corpo feminino. |
| Abstract: | This work aims to analyze the novels The Stepford Wives (1972), from the American writer Ira Levin, and The Handmaid's Tale (1985), from the Canadian writer Margaret Atwood, in a comparative perspective. Our category of analysis will be develop around the representation of woman body, present in the novels. To this end, we investigate the protagonists from both novels to engender our analysis. As a theoretical framework, names such as Revel (2005), Cavalcanti (2005), Xavier (2007), Silva (2010) and Schaun & Schwartz (2012) were studied in relation to the issues addressed. As methodological process, it fits into a qualitative and interpretive research, allowing the researcher an exploration of the theme in evidence and the resulting reflection from their own ideas about it. In both novels we reflect on the reality that is based on social and cultural ideologies present in contemporary society, related to the feminine body. |
