Impactos e transformações da República no município de Pombal-PB (1890 a 1930).

Abstract

The present work analyzes the impacts and transformations of the arrival of the Republic that occurred in the city of Pombal-PB in the high hinterland of Paraíba. The objective is to understand the political and social context in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, as well as the transformations generated in the political framework of the municipality and the insertion of modernist symbols. To achieve the research objective, a bibliographical discussion with the authors Seixas (2004), Sousa (1999), Mello (1997), and Wanderley (2009) was confronted to understand the social and political context of the Pombal region. In this research, primary sources, analysis of theses, dissertations, and academic articles were used. The intention is to try to understand who are the political subjects that are configured with the instituted regime, as well as trying to understand how their performance implies in the social context of the municipality of Pombal (PB), and that, in turn, in the insertion of modernist symbols.
