Abstract

The current internship was accomplished through a partnership between Construtora Rocha Cavalcanti and the Portuguese company Sisint, Lda. Construtora Rocha Cavalcanti has recently got interested in the field of substations building, thatÕs why they wanted the intern to have this foreign experience on that company, so he could acquire some know-how on that area of study and give his employees the real situation about that sector of investment. The internship was accomplished on the main office of Sisint, in the Grij town, which is placed 15 Km South of Oporto, Portugal. Looking forward to give the intern a general view, his boss, Pedro Maio, opted for giving him some basis in the field of projects of protection, command and control of substations, relays commissioning and conducting primary electric current injection tests in AT and MAT panels of Energy Transmission and Distribution Substations. All the activities developed during the internship meant huge knowledge for the professional development of the intern; such as he had the opportunity of meeting not only the theory, but also the true substation building.
