A feira de Umbuzeiro - PB: estrutura, crescimento e dinâmica espacial.

Abstract

Although it is an old economic practice, the Fair of Umbuzeiro - PB prevails with relevance in the current economic context. Over time, this activity has become an alternative for shopping and leisure, with historical aspects senders to the foundation of the city. The purpose of this paper is to analyze the current spatial dynamics of the Fair of Umbuzeiro, trying to identify possible changes occurring in the sector. This way, different activities were established to carry out the work, such as: literature review, visits to the fair, application of interviews and questionnaires with customers and merchants. Because it is a business practice exercised outdoors, it contributes to receiving people from other cities in the surrounding area and goods in the same proportion, raising the strengthening of the local financial system. This market relationship modifies the flow and the local landscape, causing a momentary installation of other sectors, aswell as provides to the formal trade a significant increase in sales.
