A territorialidade das pixações urbanas.

Abstract

In this work, we approach the theme pixations, a research of geographic character, in order to understand the activity and the individual, how its appropriation takes place and the meaning of the transformations in the urban landscape. I had as objective to identify the meanings in the transformation of the landscape, the description and analysis of points and "sanctuaries" as geosymbols, the identification of territory as well as their descriptions, the process of appropriation by pixadores and, finally, the association between the landscape transformed and the territories of pixadores. I have as an example the municipality of Campina Grande, during the late 1990s and the first decade of the 2000s, to realize that the practice of pixation, at this time, already existed in the city and its main protagonists still could be found. I used as object of study, some groups of pixadores that directed me to the underworld of the pixation, in the attempt to understand it. For a better understanding, it was necessary to explain the step-by-step, what is the pixation and how it started in the city from juvenile groups transgressors, next to the goals of the pixation as a tool and its role of transgressing, I started with the idea of landscape to explain the existing appropriations, and consequently the changes in the so-called urban landscapes. Later it was necessary to apply the concepts of territory, in an attempt to explain the existing conflicts from the "sanctuaries" that were territories full of symbology, being a historical fact, it is necessary to enter the imagination on its aspects. After interviews with the pixadores, themselves it was possible to map the territories of action of the first groups, taking into account their territorialities. I managed to take part in a process of territoriality more current, in the so-called points, cyclical territory, functional for the pixadores, considered a place of appropriation and of meetings, marked by the friendship. Finally, I entered into the existing conflicts, in the practical form, in the territorial disputes that characterized geographical conflicts explained in the first chapters and I was able to gather the information in the creation of maps of these territorialities exercised over the urban space.
