Paisagem, territorialidade e práticas culturais no Quilombo Grilo - PB.

Abstract

The study of culture in geography is the basis for the understanding of how relationships between different groups are established and community living, since objects, elements and symbols have importance in the construction of meaning for these groups. The reproduction of practices and behaviors strengthens the territorialities and the functional and symbolic dimensions that express themselves in the landscape. In this sense, this article aims to present a study about the Quilombola Community of the Grilo, located in the rural area of the Municipality of Riachão do Bacamarte - PB, based on the analysis of the territoriality process and the identification of the cultural elements present in the landscape, in their functional and symbolic perspectives. We highlight the main forms of work and their contributions to the strengthening of the ties of identity and the relations of sociability. The study of the landscape by the cultural geography has an interesting and at the same time challenging perspective, because it allows diverse interpretations about the reality constructed socially through the process of experience.
