O ensino de genética em uma escola da rede estadual de ensino da cidade de Sousa-PB.

Abstract

The genetic is a biology area which has been highlighting in the technology and scientific scene. It is part of content worked in the third year of high school, and many students have difficulties to understand the basic concepts and its relation with daily, a consequence in the superficial way of how teaching this discipline it has been worked at the schools. Thus, the research aimed to do an analysis of the teaching of Genetics in the public school, to evaluate the condition of the teaching/learning process. The research was developed in the Public High school Mestre Júlio Sarmento in the Sousa city, in the first semester of 2017, with the all Biology teachers of school and the students of third grade of high school. Were elaborated and applied two different questionnaires; (1) one with multiple choice questions, for teachers, which was approached themes about the conditions of the process teaching / learning of Genetics; (2) other with discursive questions for students of the third grade of high school, ruled in basic concepts of Genetic. The results allow us to conclude that the teaching of Genetics is still flawed and, therefore, changes in the teaching / learning process need to be done to improve this reality.
