Abstract

The comparison between construction methods is important so that the executor of the work has knowledge of the best method for his work, based on costs, practicality, benefits, etc. Each location has a different reality, be it with the supply of material, material costs, specialization of the labor force, etc. Among the slabs, in the city of Campina Grande, two methods stand out: ribbed slabs molded in place with polypropylene shapes and prefabricated lattice slabs. The present work seeks to compare these two methods so that it can be a basis for evaluating possible builders in the city, before deciding which method is intended to be used. The final cost of the work and the construction period were compared. The TQS software was used to model the structures, while the budget was used to calculate the cost. With the results obtained, it can be seen that the prefabricated slabs had a lower cost and time, while the ribbed slabs had a better performance in terms of the Service Limit State.
