Abstract

A of the major problems that buildings face throughout their useful life is the many pathologies that can affect the operating condition as a whole, where often the residents themselves are unaware of the dangers and risks they run when living in them. themselves, thus requiring maintenance and inspections to make this condition of use of the environment possible without danger to the inhabitants who live there, this work is a building inspection carried out in a building for residential use located in the city of Campina Grande- PB, and aimed to identify the most critical points of the current situation of the structure, thus using the GUT matrix (Severity, Urgency and Trend) as a tool to achieve this result, a checklist was thus prepared with the most present anomalies in buildings for better guide the study. With this study, it was possible to observe that the residents of this building need to seek immediate repairs, especially in structural elements, which present problems such as corrosion of reinforcement and cracks in slabs and pillars, so the most sensible solution is to hire a qualified professional to deal with problems correctly and effectively.
