Um país, 10 destinos: concebendo um hotel sustentável na Ilha de São vicente - Mindelo.

Abstract

This work is a preliminary architectural project of a hotel located in the Bay of Mindelo city, Cape Verde, Africa, considered one of the 10 most beautiful bays in the world, where various social, cultural and tourism activities take place. others. The strategic tourism sector for the sustainable development of Cape Verde in recent years has had a notable increase in the local economy, influencing the growth of the sector of Cape Verdean hotels currently the most active in Africa. Namely, hospitality has the basic function of providing shelter, with a certain comfort, in order to meet different customer profiles. For this, the hotels are formed by different facilities and services. The objective of this study is to develop a hotel architectural project on the island of São Vicente, Cape Verde, aiming at meeting part of the growing demand for tourism in the city of Mindelo and applying sustainable solutions at environmental, economic and social level through the use of sustainable materials and solutions, as well as social programs aimed at social inclusion at the hotel. The methodology is focused on the development of an architectural project in its several stages: preliminary studies and preliminary project accompanied by a detailed notebook and specifications memorial. Influenced by the case studies carried out in the previous phase, we start with the conception of the proposal, considering and using the criteria of modernity. Finally, this project contributes to meet the growing demand for hotels, as a consequence of the increase of the entrance of tourists in the country. Meeting some criteria of environmental, social and economic sustainability. Starting from the premise of a well-located land in the center of the city, with easy access to the sea (Marina) and aerial means (Cesária Évora International Airport), it is concluded that this hotel also brings a good dynamics to tourists, allowing it to easily displace the other 8 islands, would bring one more venue to publicize the local cultural and consequently bring more jobs to the city.
