Patrimônio da fazenda Acauã: memórias do Sertão.

Abstract

The present study was developed with the purpose of analyzing the elements that contribute to the preservation of the memory of the Acauã Farm Heritage. The aim is to analyze the importance of memory representations of an old farm dweller as the “guardian” of a fundamental historical memory for aparecidence society. Regarding this context, the following question moved this research: How did the history and memory of the monument make it possible to construct the culture of Aparecidense society and its identity? As a theoretical framework we will base our discussions on Choay (2006) to approach the idea of heritage; Gomes (190) to think of the use of the term “guardian of memory”; Diehl (2002), in order to deal with the process of memory erosion; Le Goff (1990) regarding discussions about memory and monument. We work with Oral History, based on interviews, based on Delgado (2003). Using the case study method, this research fits as bibliographic, documentary and qualitative, because it better demonstrates the elements of the proposed work. The work was performed through the input of documents, as well as orality, particularly, with an interview with the agents that seek to highlight the memory of the Acauã farm. In conclusion, the actions developed by the Points of Culture groups Paths of Acauhan and Acauã Cultural Production are important to keep alive the construction of the memory of the Acauã Farm Heritage.
