Termografia de infravermelho na Medicina Veterinária: revisão de literatura.

Abstract

The infrared thermography came through to the Greek medical studies Hipócrates, where since antiquity already related increase in body temperature with a possible disease. In Veterinary Medicine, a thermography emerges as a diagnostic tool of great value in the detection and monitoring of numerous pathologies and physiological changes, also it is an important indicator of animal welfare, making it essential to use non-invasive techniques and equipment by that well-being and the animal comfort, the correct measurement is extremely important for proper control environment or diagnosis of stress. This method has been well used to great effect, having high levels of accuracy and security, the same converts the thermal radiation emitted by the surface of an object in detailed images of the temperature profile of the entire subject matter or even specific points. The objective of this work conduct a study on the use of infrared thermography technique in different areas of veterinary medicine, contributing to welfare studies and animal bioclimatológicos, logo also in clinical medicine as a means of preventive diagnosis of skeletal lesions and inflammatory focus.
