A importância do patrimônio ferroviário para cidades de pequeno porte: o caso de Missão Velha / CE.

Abstract

The industrial heritage rail corresponds to a topic of recent interest to academia and to the Insttuto do Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional­IPHAN, putting in evidence a subject once important and forgotten, both by the Government and the population in General. The relevance of this subject elicited the need to investigate the configuration of that heritage and the importance of it to the small towns. Thus, defined as objective of the present study to analyze the importance of valorization of the railway heritage of the city of Missão Velha in the State of Ceará, for protection of material goods that are part of this story. To this end we decided to understand how the railroad deployment, identify characteristics of cultural property heritage site, analyzing existing protection for this collection and draw general parameters to assist in the process of recognition, appreciation and appropriation of these buildings. This construction was adopted as the bibliographical research methodology and descriptive documentary with a qualitative approach. Were used as methodological procedures to review related research topics in primary and secondary sources on the implementation of the railway, the mapping lines/branches and inventory record. From the results obtained with this research, it was possible to analyze the history of the city, your rail heritage and the importance of it to urban dynamics, in addition to the relationship established between the city and its residents with the railroad. It might also, analyze the strategies of conservation and protection, punctuating the State of conservation of the built heritage, the ways in which the Government and society that effect resource protection and recovery measures and duly deserved recognition.
