Estudo das características andrológicas de touros raça Gir (Bos tauros indicus), criados na Estação Experimental da EMEPA em Umbuzeiro - PB, no período de 2002 a 2008.

Abstract

The present study it had for objectives to evaluate the reproductive characteristics, as well as making the andrológica classification for points (CAP) of 85 bulls of the Gir race with age varying of 22 the 60 months created in the Experimental Station of the EMEPA in Umbuzeiro- PB, the period of 2002 the 2008. The animals had been separate in three distinct groups: G1 = the 22 34 months; G2 = the 35 47 months and G3 = the 48 60 months. The Average ± Error Standard gotten for the escrotal circumference (cm), length of the left testicule (cm) and length of the right testicule (cm) in the groups G1, G2 and G3 had been, 30,72±0,42; 32,00±0,67; 39,33±2,33, 9,27±0,176; 10,00±3,96; 13,67±1,85, and 9,38±0,17; 9,94±0,39; 13,3±2,19, respectively. For the characteristics of the semen: espermática concentration (106/cm3), turbilhonamento (1-5), mobility (%), vigor (1-5), and total defects (%), of the three groups, respectively, it was observed for Average ± Error Standard the following values 205,81±48,64; 2,2±125; 750±189; 2,38±0,10; 3,16±0,25, 3,00±0,58; 63,75±1,62; 74,44±3,45; 70±5,77; 2,65±0,10, and 3,11±0,19; 3,00±0,57; 17,27±1,33; 14,05±1,08; 19,67±4,33 respectively. Of the 85 studied bulls, 80 had been submitted to the CAP resulting in 57 capable, 15 questionable, 8 immature. In accordance with the gotten results, conclude that it had variations in the seminal parameters and biometria to testicular; The CAP demonstrated optimum performance of the animals above of the 34 months, in relation to the evaluated animals.
