???metadata.dc.description.resumo???:	A ligação e interação dos humanos com os mais diversos animais podem ser observados nos diferentes períodos de evolução da humanidade. A zooterapia, método terapêutico onde o animal é usado como parte principal do tratamento, tem por objetivo promover a saúde física, social, emocional e/ou funções cognitivas das pessoas. Trata-se de um processo coadjuvante, paralelo e facilitador, não substituindo qualquer terapia convencional. O objetivo deste trabalho foi estudar os principais meios zooterápicos, como suas indicações, e os benefícios oferecidos citados na literatura cientifica de uma forma clara e objetiva, além avaliar a participação de médicos veterinários nessa prática. A zooterapia pode servir como auxílio no tratamento de diversas patologias como síndromes genéticas, hiperatividade, depressão, mal de Alzheimer, lesão cerebral, entre outras. Ela parte do princípio de que o amor e a amizade que podem surgir entre a interação dos seres humanos e animais geram inúmeros benefícios.
Abstract:	The connection and interaction of humans with all kinds of animals can be observed in different periods of human evolution. The zootherapy, therapeutic method where the animal is used as the main part of the treatment is aimed at promoting physical, social, emotional and / or cognitive functions of people. It is a supporting process, parallel and facilitator, not replacing any conventional therapy. The aim of this study was the main means zootherapy as its indications, and benefits cited in the scientific literature in a clear and objective, and evaluate the participation of veterinarians in this practice. The zootherapy can serve as an aid in treating various diseases such as genetic syndromes, hyperactivity, depression, Alzheimer's, brain injury, among others. It assumes that love and friendship that may arise between the interaction of humans and animals produce many benefits.
