Efeitos da ingestão residual de olanzapina sobre a morfometria e biometria hepática em Rattus norvegicus albinus lactantes.

Abstract

The present work consisted of an experiment with the intention of analyzing the effects of the ingestion of metabolic residues of Olanzapine found in breast milk on the morphometry and biometry of the liver of lactating rats. Twenty-four male albino rats were used in the suckling stage, divided into four groups: control group GC14 and GC21, treated group GT14 and GT21. The matrices of the control groups were submitted daily to the ingestion of physiological solution in the same proportion in which the matrices of the treated groups were medicated with Olanzapine, at the dose of 10mg / kg, from the birth of the pups until the periods established for the accomplishment of the euthanasia The animals were weighed daily, groups GC14 and GT14 were euthanized after 14 days of birth and animals of groups GC21 and GT21 after 21 days of birth. The liver was collected, where absolute weight and organ volume were measured. Histological slides were then made to analyze the hepatocyte diameter of its nuclei and to investigate the changes resulting from the effects of drug exposure. Data were collected using Mann-Whitney's non-parametric U-test where a significant difference was detected in all aspects except the diameter of the hepatocyte nuclei.
