Abstract

Treatment of sarcoptic mange (Sarcoptes Scabiei var canis) in a dog (Canis lupus familiaris) with rue alcohol: rutacea ruta graveolens, L: case report. Scabies is sarcoptica a crusted and scaly pruritic dermatitis caused by the mite sarcoptesscabei. Is a parasite that has clinical expression in domestic dogs and that also presents a potential zoonotico to humans. Conventional therapy is based on the use of ivermectin, considered potentially toxic when administered in the wrong way. As the phytotherapy comes growing enough in the present day, the objective of evaluating the treatment of mange sarcoptica the basis of aromatherapy for the Rue (rutagraveolens l.) against dust mites that cause this disease. Was studied a case report in a wandering dog; without defined breed standard; female; 8 months of age, starting at day 12 of April 2019. For preparation of medicine used: 200 grams of plant Rue (rutagraveolens l.) sting and cleaned under running water. After this step the plant was put in maceration in a hidroalcoolica solution to 50% in a clean, dry glass container wrapped in foil for a period of 72horas. The animal was treated for 30 days, with topical applications in every 12 hours, at the end of that time was observed complete healing of the injuries and death of the parasites. This result suggests the effectiveness of the use of phytotherapeutic against the mites that cause the mange sarcoptica, although the duration of treatment is a viable alternative.
