Seleção de espécies arbustivas potenciais para o paisagismo no Semi-árido Brasileiro.

Abstract

In Landscaping, native and exotic species from many different classes of ornamental plants have been used to compose various landscapes providing aesthetic and functional benefits. And among these categories of ornamental plants, notably those bushes that are of fundamental importance so that they may know their potential for a good fit within the landscape. In the Caatinga biome, vegetation is explored at random for different uses, taking them almost to extinction by lack of management and appropriate uses. Such ignorance in some way, prevent the operation of the real potential of native vegetation. To this end, we analyzed the potential of shrub species of exotic or native trees that are adapted to the region, as may be indicated for the urban and rural landscape in the semi-arid region. For this, directed the studies in the Hinterland of Paraiba is threefold: a) identification and selection of shrubs, b) analysis of the potential landscape, and c) an indication of the species for landscaping and urban areas. The results showed the occurrence of 83 shrub species in the regions surveyed with the potential use of landscape. The species were recommended for both planting and in isolated associations. This study showed the importance of shrub species to landscape composition in semi-arid region, because of providing aesthetic and functional benefits in environments in which they operate.
