Avaliação e percepção da arborização do Parque Religioso Cruz da Menina na cidade de Patos - PB.

Abstract

The green areas are agents integrators in the society, creating a balance in the urban improving the quality of life of the population. The study aimed to evaluate qualiquantitatively the reforestation of the Cruz da Menina Religious Park in the city of Patos-PB, as also to diagnose the environmental perception of visitors. The individuals present in the Park were evaluated quantitatively (height, diameter, and circumference at chest height) and qualitatively (the physical aspects and health) and characteristics of the areas. In the study of environmental perception questionnaires were applied to patrons on the reforestation of the site, totaling a sample of 100 interviews. Have been catalogued 156 individuals in the tree/bush, distributed in 17 species and 7 botanical families, being 75% of the individuals of exotic origin and 25% native. The family most representative was the Fabaceae with 122 individuals. The kind most recurrent in the landscaping of the Park was Prosopis juliflora, with 52 individuals, then the species Albizia lebbeck with some 36 individuals. According to the measurements dendrometrics classes time with the greatest representation was that of individuals of 4–7m (51%), and the class diametric with the largest representation was the 1.91–and 9.38 cm (23,71%). The major damages identified in the individual trees are of anthropogenic origin, being the trunk is the most affected area. According to the results of the interviews the Park is fairly wooded, but the interviewees reported that there is a need of enrichment in the composition tree. It is concluded that the majority of individuals presented reasonable conditions phytosanitary measures, and which, though woody is not necessary to introduction of other individuals. The provision of shade was the main positive point cited by the interviewees and the production and accumulation of “nasties” in the park was the main negative point of independence.
