Incrementos dendrométricos de espécies arbóreas utilizadas na arborização do Campus Universitário da UFCG - Patos - PB.

Abstract

The growth of a tree is characterized as the increase of its dimensions in a determined period of time being this dependent of several factors, like the availability of the natural resources like water, light among others. The objective of this work was to follow the dendrometric increment of some tree species introduced in the afforestation of Campina Federal University of Campina Grande in Patos - PB. In order to carry out this study, measurements of height and diameter of 15 individuals presenting CNB> 3 cm during the one year period were performed. Absolute growth, relative growth and periodic increment of dendrometric variables of the species and the effect of meteorological variations (precipitation and temperature) on the individuals' development were estimated. It was concluded that the species Poincianella pluviosa, Jacaranda cuspidifolia and Cnidosculus quercifolius presented the most representative values of increment for the variables diameter and height, considering the growth of the individuals differentiated even though the same management conditions were maintained, considering their different genetic constitutions and adaptability.
