Ocorrência de Anadenanthera macrocarpa (Benth.) Brenan em uma área de caatinga.

Abstract

The regeneration and succession processes that occur in native forests allow the continuity of the species and provide information about their structure and distribution within a forest community. These processes are closely related to the degree of vegetation exploitation, the edaphoclimatic factors and also the preservation of forest remnants. This work had as objective to verify the occurrence of the individuals of A. macrocarpa and its distribution in the different diametric classes in a caatinga area preserved in the Fazenda Lameirão in the city of Santa Terezinha-PB. The data were collected through the method of walking, in the portion of the forest where this species occurred. On the way, soil samples were collected and the individuals sighted were counted, measured at the circumference of the breast hight (CAP) and total height (H). The results demonstrate that A. macrocarpa occurs in agglomerated form preferentially along the temporary creek, with greater amount of individuals in the first three diametric classes. The absence of anthropic action in the studied area favors the advance of the secondary succession. The presence of regenerating individuals in the area was not observed, and studies are recommended throughout the year, especially in the dry and rainy seasons, to obtain more consistent data about this process.
