Perfil clínico dos pacientes atendidos na Clínica de Dentística da UFCG e associação quantitativa da perda do primeiro molar permanente.

Abstract

For a correct planning in health and organization in service, analyzing the profile and the clinical history of the patients attended is fundamental, because this study model is necessary to know, through clinical records, the peculiarities of the patients and also to evaluate the quality service, understanding and meeting the true needs of the population. From this point of view, the objective of this study was to outline the clinical profile of the patients treated at the Dentistry Clinic of the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, from Patos campus. This cross-sectional, observational study, with an inductive approach and comparative, descriptive procedure, adopting as a data collection strategy equivalent to 200 medical records of the patients attending at the Dentistry Clinical School. Considering the data, it was verified that the majority of the patients were female (57.5%), aged between 31 and 45 years (38.5%), whose clinical profile had the presence of healthy teeth (40,75 %), caries (19.6%) and missing teeth (18.51%). Among the patients with absent teeth, the absence of the first molar corresponded to 22.14% in the female gender and 20.63% in the male, it was still observed that most of the patients did not complete the indicated treatment (60%). this research allowed us to understand in more detail the patients received in this clinic-school, demonstrated that a considerable group of patients have dental problems, and this reflects an approximation with reality when we refer to the understanding of the patient's needs in dental care, especially if we take into account the lack of access of the population to quality dental services.
