A "modernização" da cidade rural: espaços de rupturas e permanências da cidade de Alagoa Nova-PB (1920-1960).

Abstract

The work is about the city of New Alagoa the period 1920 to 1960. The purpose of this study is to analyze the city of New Alagoa when they perceive a period of growth for the city. Our work is not about any great center, but is a work about the experience of a small town in the interior of Paraíba. These are experiences that occur from the time the city goes to live with some modern icons. We begin our discussion of the 1920s where we realized that there was an attempt by the federal government the opening of railways for almost all of these extensions Paraíba and would pass through the city of New Alagoa. Thus we identify how the city waited for this element and how it was that people began to imagine the city in tune with the modern. In this first moment and the presence of construction of the railway line in the city, inaugurated the supply of electric power motor, an energy that has time to connect and time to hang up. The city was an experience in the middle of communications with the deployment of municipal diffuser. So we made a foray into the discussion on the radio and diffusing local broadcast news. Following this order of growth and harmony with the modern symbols of the city still goes for drafting the Municipal Code of postures. Based on this code look to see how it was dealt with health, hygiene and cleanliness of public Alagoa Nova. And a third time we realized that the city has modernized and organized. Therefore, people living in this city in tune with the modern and so we made a foray in fact realize how people lived in this city was and how fun the residents.
