Manual prático laboratorial de aparelhos ortodônticos: Universidade Federal de Campina Grande.

Abstract

The aim of this study was to develop a didactic, explanatory and illustrative manual of immediate accessibility to guide and assist students in the laboratory production of orthodontic appliances of the Children's Clinic I of course at the Universidade Federal de Campina Grande, Patos - PB, as well as also serve as a guide for those who are in Child Clinic II in which they will be making these devices in a school clinic environment in the care of children. The laboratory manual will standardize the tasks to be carried out by the students, facilitating the learning, providing clarifications regarding the theoretical and laboratory knowledge of orthodontic dentistry. The division of the manual was based on the syllabus content in the syllabus of the discipline, separated by the following chapters: Instrumental necessary for the laboratories; Orthodontic braid exercises, orthodontic braces, space maintainer (band-handle), lingual arch, orthodontic welding, active lip plate, space recuperator, fixed inclined plane and palatal grille with expander screw. It is believed that this material will be very useful, due to the lack of publications of this type, which will guide the initial steps in the production of orthodontic appliances, aiming at preventive and interceptive procedures, and serve as an introduction to the subject in question.
