| ???metadata.dc.description.resumo???: | Os hábitos alimentares adquiridos na infância influenciam no processo do desenvolvimento craniofacial, na progressão da doença cárie e no surgimento de outros problemas bucais como a erosão dentária. O aleitamento natural proporciona uma adequada realização das funções orais do bebê, permitindo o desenvolvimento das estruturas relacionadas a tais funções. Uma dieta rica em alimentos açucarados, aliada a uma péssima condição de higiene bucal, como também a dificuldade de acesso a tratamentos odontológicos, torna a população, em especial as crianças, mais expostas aos fatores de risco relacionados à cárie dentária. O presente estudo teve como objetivo apontar os aspectos relacionados aos hábitos alimentares na primeira infância, quanto ao aleitamento natural, artificial e alimentação complementar. Além disso, apresentar a importância e os benefícios que a amamentação proporciona para as crianças, principalmente em relação ao desenvolvimento craniofacial; relacionar fatores entre uma dieta adequada e a saúde bucal dos bebês; e apontar a influência do marketing no comportamento alimentar das crianças. |
| Abstract: | Feeding habits aquired during childhood influence in the process of craniofacial development, in the progression of caries disease and in the arrival of other oral problems such as dental erosion. Natural feeding provides an adequate accomplishment of the baby’s oral functions, allowing the development of structures related to these functions. A diet rich in sugar, combined with a bad oral hygiene and the difficulty in accessing dental care make the population, especially children, more exposed to risk factors related to dental caries. This study aims to indicate the aspects related to feeding habits in first childhood, regarding to natural and artificial breast-feeding, and complementary feeding. Furthermore, present the importance and the benefits which breast-feeding provides to children, especially related to craniofacial development; relate factors between an adequate diet and the baby’s oral health; and point the influence of marketing on children’s eating habits. |
