A juventude na "sulanca": os desafios da inserção no mundo do trabalho em Taquaritinga do Norte-PE.

Abstract

This paper proposes to bring a sociological social-economic reality so far untapped in the Social Sciences: The configuration of relationships and working conditions in garment companies with a specific look for youth. These companies are located in the region of the Wasteland of the Northern state of Pernambuco, now known as Pole Clothing of the Wasteland. The production of clothing originally known as "Sulanca" had its beginnings in the 1950 in Santa Cruz do Capibaribe, its development took place since 1960, but only in 1980 there is a strong regional growth in production. The activity is conducted through a mix of craft and industrial production, being considered for local residents or for the many migrants who come to the region a real survival strategy. However, this reality since its existence was characterized by informality and precarious working conditions, a factor that imposes several challenges especially the youth, requiring greater flexibility and thus increasing the quality of jobs available.
