Uma história sobre as desigualdades de gênero no futebol brasileiro: o caso da Jogadora “Formiga”.

Abstract

Women’s football, subject of this paper, came up in a society based on structures and hierarchies that devalue and oppress women. In this way, meanwhile, on one side is historicaly observed a bigger growth and acknowledgment of men’s football, on the other side, comes across with a very low budget destined to those women who pursues the football career. Although Brazil is considered “the football country”, when is considered the practice of this sport by women, such nickname doesn’t fit, just because this universe mostly male, the female practice is not seen as a profit generator. By this point, the objective of this paper is to question women’s place in the history of brazilian football and, in a particular way, to analyze the path of a football player called Miraildes, more known as Formiga. Through this singular experience, is intended to question the structural dimension of gender disparities on the scenario of brazilian football. For this, bibliographies about women’s football are dialogued with authors that have na approach with gender relations; as fonts are used, mostly journalistic articles, interviews available on Youtube and law acts to show the arguments. The paper is about an initial research that came from a discomfort felt with the lack of opportunities for women on the scenario of football career, in spite of some changes on the last years.
