“O berço dos infantes desamparados”: o Hospital-Escola Fundação Assistencial da Paraíba - FAP (1959).

Abstract

The Decade of 1960 if represented as flagship for the "Queen of Borborema". In this decade was the development and prosperity of the city in the so-called party "Centennial Celebration". Campina Grande being represented as working capital, encouraging education and culture, of cartography urbanized and medicalizated. Medicalization, incidentally, that was demonstrated in the words of the elite, with contemplation of a spatiality towards the health of campinenses, having its Center as "hospital core" of medical and scientific practices, to promote healing and well-being of its population.However, lacked this medical cartography, a piece like that of a "puzzle", that made the full city health services: an institution specific to medical and hospital care of childhood, especially the poor and the helpless. Behold the day May 2, 1968, the part that you lacked was opened: the Welfare Foundation of Paraíba-FAP, the first City Hospital to serve needy infants preferred form. Institution which, moreover, became historically poor childhood in the care of reference during the decades of 1960-1970; and therefore eventually devise new ways to look at and identify this guy.so, this text aims to problematize the identity (s) know this hospital space doctor-pediatric, prescribed to infants in the daily practices of practice and to medicate this body. Analysis on narrative and marked in the years of textualities 1959-1979, which had as theme the infancy poor sick the city and the hospital institution, namely: printed texts, magazines, newspapers, pronouncements, medical reports; Iconographies and oral reports.Documents, monuments we seek dialogue with theoreticians that focus on cultural aspects, specifically the representations, as a way to sort and view the world, such as: Roger Chartier, Stuart Hall, Sandra JatahyPasavento. Include even Michel de Certeau, to better understand how a medical and hospital space can be built, founded and even "invented".
