A correlação em duas gramáticas funcionalistas do português brasileiro contemporâneo.

Abstract

When we talk about gramma we often hear that "Grammar is only one book that dictates the way it should be written", "I can not memorize all the rules contained in the grammar". From these reviews we can say that we are used to the restricted teaching of traditional grammar (TG). As we reflect on the extent of grammatical studies, we will focus on the perspective of Functional Grammar (FG), seen as a conjecture that seeks to unite the theory of grammatical organization to the theory of interaction. We aim to discuss the linguistic functionalism adopted in each of the grammars, namely: Gramática do Português Brasileiro (2010) of Ataliba Teixeira de Castilho and Os usos do português na gramática (2011) of Maria Helena de Moura Neves, who were guiding these questions: How do They present the general principles and the layout of the macro organization content in these grammars? What analytical dimensions related to the sentences are presented in them and what are the similarities and divergences in the nomenclature? This work has as a main objective to study the functionalist concept adopted in two grammars of contemporary Brazilian Portuguese and more specifically, in order to describe the macro organization of the content, but also to describe the theoretical and analytical dimensions adopted in the content to covere and to identify similarities and differences in terminology adopted by the authors of such grammars. As a theoretical basis, we made a brief retrospective on the linguistic functionalism and its different models from Halliday (1973, 2004), Dik (1978, 1980, 1989), Givón (2004) and others. Beyond this theoretical framework approach the linguistic functionalism in Brazil (Neves, 1997, 2007, 2011 [2000]), Castillo (2010a, 2010b). We will see that to the extent we understand that important are the rules on grammatical activity, they can not be restricted to conceive them as static. It is necessary to reflect on the contribution of these innovative studies and present this "mobility" of the use of grammar rules, trying to understand the grammatical description is a field which can change.
