Variação e mudança fonética: o caso da transformação do / l / por / r / na fala de campinenses.

Abstract

The portuguese language is the result of several processes of transformation, including phonetics. These changes are involuntary and sometimes go unnoticed in the speech and favoring the existing linguistic diversity. In this context, we interest us in developing this research, which aimed to analyze the use / listening to the presence or absence of words phoneme / l / or / r / (for example, "flamengo / framengo.": standard / non-standard) in Campina Grande. To guide the investigation, the specific objectives were established: a) identify the use/listening words with /l/ and /r/ (standard and nonstandard) to people that lives in the city, and b) relate to the use/listening to /l/ and /r/ (standard and non-standard) in the variables gender, age and educational level of the informants. This is a research about linguistic variation defined like qualitative and quantitative.To achieve the proposed objectives, we apply a questionnaire to quantify the use and listening about the variations of the words, as the presence and absence of the phoneme /l/ and /r/.The theoretical foundations used recover studies on phonetic variation (LABOV, 1966), variation and change (LEITE e CALLOU, 2002; FARACO, 2005; ILARI e BASSO, 2007), metaplasm (COUTINHO, 1974; BAGNO, 2011) and education (MENEGUELLI e SOUZA, 2014).The results of the analysis revealed that between gender, age and education there are significant differences between the proximity or standard distance and make us to reflect on the role of school about the variations and change language.
