Abstract

The construction of the anti-hero in contemporary literature: a study on Hosana na Sarjeta, by Marcelo Mirisola. In this research, we attempt to analyze the journey of the anti-hero Marcelo, the characterization of this character and his functions in the post-modern novel Hosana na Sarjeta by Marcelo Mirisola. We also try to understand the narrator’s discourse, which is materialized through erudite language, humor and pornography. For that, we did an in-depth analysis of this novel taking into account social matters, personality features and the daily life of the characters in the novel. Besides, we reflected upon autofiction and the distinction between the romantic hero and the modern hero. As a theoretical background we referred to some critics of this novel such as: Luciano Trigo (2014), André de Leones (2014), Márcia Denser (2014), Luis Augusto Fischer (2014) etc.
