Estigma e superação em Uma História de Amor de Carlos Heitor Cony.

Abstract

The love experience, especially that which unites the destinies of a man and a woman, is always a fascinating reality, which decisively contributes to make life even more beautiful and worth living. Among the manifold forms of manifestation of this experience is that which occurs under the aegis of the romantic worldview, in which the emphasis on subjectivity is the tonic and worship of feeling, the most recurrent existential mark. With an unhappy ending, or with a fuller conclusion for lovers, romantic love is often the target of adversity, among which are the social differences among lovers, easily taking the prejudice and stigma that falls on a particular person. The present research seeks to analyze the novel The Story of Love, authored by the Brazilian writer Carlos Heitor Cony, in whose plot marked by an emotional love story experienced by two young people belonging to different social classes, the realities of perseverance, prejudice, stigma and The overcoming take the center of the stage in a simple narrative, but aesthetically beautiful and deeply rich in human content. In our research, our theoretical contributions are Antônio Candido (2002); Erwin Goffman (1998); Alfredo Bosi (1995); Vitor Manuel de Aguiar e Silva (1984); Beth Brait (). The present corpus, object of our appreciation will be distributed in two chapters. In the first, the theoretical basis, we will reflect on the novel and on the concept of stigma: in the second, we will carry out the analysis itself, whose methodology will be based on a kind of reading adherent to the text.
