Abstract

This article focuses on analyzing the transformation in which technology has great economic, political and social impact and has been changing the way the government provides its services to society. The general objective of the article is to identify possible benefits that the use of electronic government has as a tool to improve the provision of public services offered to society through government platforms. To do so, it is necessary to conceptualize electronic government, thereby examining the impact of implementing this government instrument, analyzing the relevance of providing services to society and verifying the transparency of the federal government portal. It deals with electronic government, above all, with how this new innovation mechanism is currently transforming the way the government provides its services to the community and directly impacts the life of society, through information and communication technology. The present study is a descriptive research, having a qualitative approach in a bibliographic review research, through information in secondary sources. Articles were found through the SciELO, Capes Journal Portal and academic Google portals, to better develop the analysis. From the research procedure, it reached the conclusion of what are the main benefits of electronic government in the provision of public services to the community, such as more agile and efficient services and without bureaucracy remotely, through digital devices, contributing to strengthen the relationship of the government with society.
