Comportamento do capim buffel (Cenchrus ciliaris L.) sob irrigação.

Abstract

With the objective to study effect of water levels and stage of first cutting in production and nutritive quality of Buffel grass, one expérimente was carried out at Fazenda Sacada, 18 Km from Sume-PB, in the microregion of "Cariris VeIhos" during the period of September 1982 to January 1983. The experimental design consisted of 6 randomized blocks with treatments and Subtreatments in strips. The treatments consisted of combinations of 4 water depths: 369mm ( L j ) , 274 mm (L2 ) , 100 m m ( L 3 ) , 23 m m (L^ ) and 6 cuttings at 3 5 , 5 0 , 6 5 , 8 0 , 95 and 110 days after germination. The water application was done by line source sprinkler. A linear increase in green and dry matter production was verified with application of water, water depth Li surpassed the other treatments. However, no effect of water depths was obscerved that the grass bromotological components. Taking into consideration, parameters of prodution, of greem matter and crude protein, the best cutting time was found to be 80 days after germination. In general the stage of cutting did not influenced the contents of organic matter, etehereal extract, non nitrogen extract, crude fiber and ash. During the period from november 12 to december 13, 1982 water balance study was conducted, where real évapotranspiration was found to be 228,6; 192,5; 54,5 and 47,0 mm of water tor the water depth treatments obtained indicated that the best irrigation regimen was the one which received maxi_ mum water and for the crop studied an average évapotranspiration real of 4,7 ram/day was found, the average evaporation of class A tank was 10,0 m m / day , thus a coeficient of 0,47 for the crop studied is ofoscerved during the study period. A simple study of benefit/cost ratio of 1 ha of Buffel grass for green matter production revealed treatment Li which received maximum water to be the best with.-al ratio value of 3,86.
