Abstract

The tame nut (Jatropha curcas L.) is a native species of Brazil from the Euforbiáceaes family. This research had as objective to study the effect of different reposition levels of the evapotranspiration and manuring levels on the growth variable of tame nut plants irrigated with saline water. The experiment was developed in field, in the region of the Seridó Paraibano. The statistical design used was the randomized blocks, with four repetitions. It was used five levels of water reposition (Nr1 = 0.25; Nr2 = 0.50; Nr3 = 0.75, Nr4 =1.00 e Nr5 = 1.25 of the evapotranspiration) and three types of manuring (organic, mineral and natural fertility of the soil). The irrigation was made by drip irrigation system, with average outflow of 2 L/h.m. The control of the irrigations was made with Tank Class A. It was studied the height of the plants to 90, 150, 210 and 270 days after transplant - DAT. The experimental unit was constituted by the average of two plants. The irrigation level little influenced in the height of the plants due to the great variability of stand, however the type of manuring influenced significantly the growth of the plants, with bigger heights for the plants fertilized with chemical fertilizers.
